In the eighties, Mr. Shahram Khaledi, founder of the Shahram Khaledi Group (SKG), arrived in Laredo Texas, which is located on the border with Mexico. His first steps were dedicated to co-founding HK Global Trading Ltd., which became one of the largest distributors of the most important international brands of electronics, including: Sony, Aiwa, Canon, Pioneer and more. He also began other business ventures along the US / Mexico border, including manufacturing his own brand (GOTECH), importing new brands, and creating growth of market share of the major brands HK Global Trading Ltd. distributed. In the nineties, he co-founded duty-free stores on the US Southern border with Mexico by establishing a solid presence in each and every single major land-crossing between the US and Mexico, by creating a chain of duty free stores in Laredo, Brownsville, Hidalgo, El Paso, Nogales, Calexico, San Diego, Roma, Queretaro, and Puebla. As a result, the Company became a major retailer and distributor of luxury brands of fragrances, liquor, tobacco (private label), fashion, and consumer electronics. In 2010, Mr. Khaledi identified a clear opportunity for expansion and growth in Miami to expand sales to the rest of the Americas and the Caribbean. To facilitate the expansion, Mr. Khaledi opened offices and warehousing in Miami while successfully distributing major brands like: Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense, TCL, and many more that continue to make up our portfolio. In 2012, HK Group Trading Ltd. acquired Vann’s, an electronic and appliance retailer with 6 retail locations, which initiated our eCommerce business through Amazon, Walmart.com, New Egg, and additional distribution channels through QVC, HSN, and Rent To Own. In conjunction with HK Global Trading Ltd., Shahram expanded his business by investing in real estate and co-founding KRK Homes, which was in the business of developing and constructing single and multi-family communities, industrial warehouses, and commercial retail properties. In addition to the development and construction side of the business, KRK developed a rental portfolio of long-term holdings that included industrial warehousing, commercial properties, and multi-family communities. Starting in 2021, Shahram founded SK Group to continue his legacy in distribution and real estate. SKG operates and manages over 100,000 square feet of distribution centers and retail stores between Texas and Florida.
